Direct Fired Heaters
OTSO Direct Fired Heaters are unique, as they heat process fluids via a firetube, rather than a process coil. The firetube is typically located at one end of the vessel, where incoming fluid is heated directly. Named by the service they perform, heater types include oil treaters, FWKOs, and regenerators (for glycol and amine applications). Similar to indirect fired heaters, the heat transfer rate ranges from 50,000 Btu/hr. to over 13 MM Btu/hr.—in some cases, it can reach as high as 15 MM Btu/hr.
Note that process temperatures are determined by the process fluid, and may also differ depending on the heater. We offer special firetube design to handle your heat requirements.
The OTSO Indirect Fired Heater provides the following main benefits to customers:
- Extremely efficient, using minimal amount of fuel
- Low maintenance due to few movable parts
- Quick heating capability up to 200° F
- Steam baths up to 15 psig
- Hot oil heating up to 400° F
